Electro-Voice is pleased to welcome Japanese vocal and guitar duo K&Neo, users of the EV N/D767a and Cardinal microphones, to their family of microphone endorsers. Keico (Kay) and Naoki (Neo) bring together a natural-born vocalist and a master guitarist. Together since 1999, the pair has attracted listeners with their repertoire of classic songs from the 70s and 80s, as well as strong set of original material. Their balance of technique and emotion has built a deep-rooted fan-base.
The band started in 1999, releasing a six-track album titled “FAKiE“ in 2000. The release was followed by live performances in venues across Japan, such as jazz clubs, concert halls, convention centers, and many others. 2004 saw their first full-length album, “Timeless,“ which has been hailed by many music lovers and critics for its quality sound and performance. Released in 2006, To The Limit was recorded with no punching-in and no overdubbing-truly a “live“ recording. In 2007 Keico (Kay) was awarded the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists scholarship by the Japanese Government.
In Aug. 2006, K&Neo played a Imperial Jazz Complex 2006 performance at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. The duo rode the momentum of that performance into their nationwide tour, which commenced in Nov. 2006. The tour included stops in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka, as well as dozens of appearances and performances of national radio stations and TV shows.
Keico joined the EV family of microphone endorsers in August before traveling to New York to study vocal performance with a scholarship from the Japanese government. The duo quickly began making a name for themselves following a performance at New York City’s Dillon’s Dinner Cabaret. K&Neo’s performance took the audience by storm, and the two have yet to slow down on their rise to State-side stardom.
