Swedish Chanteuse Anna Ternheim Tours the Globe with EV Mics
Anna Ternheim has been compared to such music luminaries as PJ Harvey, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave. Known for her rawness and spontaneity, Anna possesses that kind of unique voice that has critics standing at attention. Her album Somebody Outside, recorded on the Swedish island of Gotland, has won the highest honors with de facto British music magazine MOJO, no small feat.
Karoline Eriksson (Svenska Dagbladet - one of the largest newspapers in Sweden) writes: “A voice that cuts like a knife and sings about those feelings that hurt, so beautiful it makes you want to cry“.
Electro-Voice is proud to announce Ann’s membership in the EV artist endorsement family. Anna and her engineers trust nothing but the finest in microphones to capture the raw essence of Anna’s signature sound. Anna is currently touring with a host of EV microphones that includes the EV RE-1 wireless with N/D767a dynamic and RE-510 condenser handhelds, as well as an entire fleet of EV wired microphones for on stage instrumentation, which includes the EV Raven and Cardinal, N/D468, N/D478, N/D868, N/D478 and RE200.
About Anna Ternheim
Anna Ternheim began playing the guitar, writing songs and performing when she was only ten years old. During a year abroad in Atlanta, Georgia, Anna put together her first band Sova and played at smaller festivals and local clubs. After almost two years, Anna returned to Sweden to release her debut album, Somebody Outside on Universal/Stockholm in 2004. Following the release of Somebody Outside she won a Swedish Grammy Award for Best Newcomer, and was nominated for Best Female Artist, Best Lyricist and Best Songwriter in 2005. Her second full-length album, Separation Road, garnered two Swedish Grammy wins in the Best Female Artist and Best Lyricist categories.
Her Decca EP features two songs from Somebody Outside including the fragile, “My Secret“ and the evocative “I’ll Follow You Tonight,“ as well as the melodic tunes “Today Is A Good Day“ and “Lovers Dream“ from her sophomore effort, Separation Road. To round out the EP, Ternheim does David Bowie proud with her interpretation of “China Girl“ from her Shoreline EP and “Bridges“ from the Lovers Dream EP. The disc also features bonus video footage of her performing “Shoreline“ by Swedish, indie-rock band Broder Daniel.
