EV’S NEW ZX5 SPEAKERS BRING CLARITY AND REALISM TO CARDIFF BAPTIST CHURCH

Specified by local church installation specialist David Corick of Springwood Professional Services, the system includes a Dynacord PowerMate 2200 22-input mixing desk, and a comprehensive package of Electro-Voice lapel and lectern microphones, ideal for a church which regularly features bands of up to 12 pieces in its services.

EV’s new Zx5 is a 15-inch, two-way cabinet featuring the newest generation of EV components, the all-new DXV3150, 500W, 15-inch woofer and the all-new 2-inch neodymium ND2 compression driver. Rated for 600 watts long-term power handling and capable of producing high SPLs whilst providing a very smooth frequency response, the Zx5 is ideal for the variety of program material in a progressive church service. “The first thing that strikes you is the realism,“ says David Corick. “The voices of the minister, the speakers and the musicians come over so naturally, entirely without colouration.“ No sub-woofers are required, such is the excellent bass response of the Zx5’s in-built 15.“

Corick specified the Zx5 speakers without actually hearing them, such was his confidence in the EV brand. “Electro-Voice works equally well with music and speech, and this quality makes it ideal for churches. Additionally, the products seem to last forever, so, in the long run, they don’t seem that expensive.“ The Albany Road Baptist Church is using a wide variety of EV mics, also provided by Springwood Services, including instrument mics such as the RE510 for the musicians, and ND767As for lead vocalists.
