Electro-Voice and Pro Audio Asia would like to congratulate Hariz Maloy and Lincoln Lim for being the second winners of the "Be Electro-Voiced" contest for the period of Sep – Oct 2012.
Singaporean students Hariz and Lincoln, 19 and 18 respectively, met during their study at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
Music has a played a major part in both their lives since an early age. Hariz performed in his first musical in school at the age of 10 and the performances continued from there. Lincoln’s passion for songwriting has led him to be the composer of the theme song for a local charitable event called Project Happy Feet.
They duo recently started collaborating under the name Hariz & Lincoln, and have since showcased their musical talents by participating in 987FM’s The Next Big Thing and performing at venues such as TAB and The Esplanade Waterfront.
“As young musicians, getting equipment and sponsors is a challenge,” says Hariz. “We saw this opportunity with EV and decided to take it.”
“We just wanted to see what would happen,” adds Lincoln. “We didn’t expect anything, we just thought Hey, why not? So I’m utterly surprised and happy that we won.”
EV is still looking for four more young singers or bands to showcase their performances, judged by EV panel of judges on Facebook. Contestants just need to upload a short video of their performances onto the Facebook page. The winners, announced once every two months, will be endorsed by EV and receive professional EV microphones. They will also stand a chance to win the grand prize of an EV loudspeaker system.
