System Snapshot: ZXA5 provides compact power and performance for Bridge for Youth event
Bridge for Youth is a leader in resolving issues and developing healthier relationships for youth and their families. Their second annual Faces of the Bridge fundraising event was held at St. Mary’s Lake Calhoun Event Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 14, 2012. 300 people attended and helped raise $102,000 for the organization.
Regional company Windy Shores Sound provided loudspeaker systems from Electro-Voice for the event, including two ZXA5 15-inch two-way powered units as mains and two powered SxA360 units as monitors. The sound was crisp and clear throughout the venue, and the use of just two ZXA5s as the sole mains for the event – a more than capable option with 1250 watts of power (RMS) – helped keep costs down while maintaining a minimal footprint and without compromising audio quality. The systems were used during the live performances by staff members, a live auction, video presentations, and speeches. Twin Cities-based Michael Brown acted as audio consultant for the event, which was mixed by Brent Naylor of Windy Shores Sound.
“It was amazing to hear how much power just two ZXA5 loudspeakers provided,” says Michael Brown. “They were much more cost-efficient than a full-sized rig and arguably did a better job!”
“The high-level performance of the EV equipment and the expertise of the production team made this event a great success,” added Zak Prauer of Bridge for Youth.
