Electro-Voice Product Introduction Day Singapore

September 22nd, 2011

Robert Bosch (SEA) Pte Ltd held the Electro-Voice Product Introduction Day at the Beer Market Live Music and Sports Bar located at The Foundry Clarke Quay. The event, entitled 'Electro-Voice: Serious Sound', was attended by 80 professionals from the pro audio industry as well as members of the press and showcased three of Electro-Voice's latest products; the Live X Loudspeaker Series, the R-300 Wireless Microphone System and the RE320 Live Performance Microphone.

The R300 presented by Dave Egenberger, the world wide Product Manager for wireless microphones, has features like One-Touch ClearScan and EZsync to make it quicker and easier to set-up and use than any other similarly priced wireless system. Its rack-mountable metal receiver, sturdy metal bodypack and handheld transmitters, and remote-mountable antennas are of a build and performance quality usually found in higher-priced professional products.

The RE320 Live Performance Microphone – also presented by Dave - is the latest addition to the Electro-Voice RE Performance Group of wired microphones. It culls key features of the RE20 and RE27N/D Broadcast Group products into a versatile studio and live performance microphone. Some of these features include Electro-Voice’s Variable-D proximity control technology, their humbucking coil for noiseless operation and a high-output neodymium magnet structure capsule that delivers fast and accurate transient response and pronounced high-frequency detail. In addition, the RE320 also has the new “dual personality” switch which essentially creates two mics in one.

The program continued with Patrick Hau, the Asia-Pacific Product Marketing Manager, and Ronnie Lai from Pro Sound Applications Support, presenting the Live X loudspeaker series. Consisting of three powered and four passive models, the Live X is made up of the latest Electro-Voice-engineered components. It is also lightweight and priced affordably. Three versatile powered Live X cabinets are available including two full-range loudspeakers and a matching subwoofer. Each self-contained powered system features Electro-Voice-engineered components optimized for use with the integrated high-efficiency 1000-W and 700-W Class-D amplifiers. Both full-range systems may be pole-mounted or stacked with the series’ acoustically-matched powered subwoofer. The Live X Series also features four passive configurations, including a dual-15” system.

Patrick and Ronnie's presentations were accompanied by demos of the Live X loudspeakers including a male vocal, a female vocal and an instrumental. There were also live demos including a selection of songs from DJ Louis Quek and live band performances from Tirumisu, Jack & Rai and Toni Go utilizing the Live X loudspeakers. Doing so, guests were able to experience the power and sound quality generated by these speakers. The clarity of the vocals and the separation of the instruments within the mix was outstanding.

After the presentation, Johannes Huth - Director Product Marketing APR - commented, “Electro-Voice did not just take products off the shelve, the serious sound is the result of great engineering efforts spent at our headquarter in US; all the EV expertise went into this range of products. It is great to see our customers sharing our excitement about this new range of products now launched into APR region.”

The event was a great success and guests left the event fully convinced of the potential of the new speaker family and the new microphones, R300 and RE320.
