EV presents commemorative RE320 microphone to Full Compass
Electro-Voice was pleased to present leading musical instrument and pro audio retailer Full Compass Systems with the first production unit of its new RE320 microphone, commemorating decades of successful partnership between the two companies. The microphone will be proudly displayed in the museum area at Full Compass’ facility in Madison, Wisconsin.
Franck Fabry (VP of Sales, USA Central Region) and Rick Belt (Global Product Manager, Electro-Voice Wired Microphones) made the presentation to Full Compass co-owners Jonathan and Susan Lipp.
“Everyone who has met Jonathan and Susan Lipp will attest that they are genuinely passionate about audio technology and its history, particularly microphone technology,” says Fabry. “Jonathan and Susan have collected many audio equipment artifacts over the years, and one of their side projects is to open an audio technology museum where the iPod generation will be able to learn about the history of sound, from phonographs to digital recorders. The collection already includes several original Electro-Voice microphone models, including the DL42 and the 664 ‘Hammer,’ so naturally it made sense for us to save the first production RE320 microphone for display. This small gift is also a token of our thanks for decades of partnership between Full Compass and Electro-Voice.”
