Sam Ash Raises the Bar for Retail Displays with Electro-Voice
August 15, 2011
A new live stage display at Sam Ash Nashville sets a new standard for in-store PA system displays. Mike Aurigemma, Director of Merchandising and Special Projects for Sam Ash Music, was a driving force behind the large EV-equipped stage, which features (4) QRx 153 full-range loudspeakers, (4) QRx 218 subwoofers, (2) Dx46 processors, CP series power amplifiers, and ELX1122P monitors from the new Live X family.
“Sammy Ash and I discussed this project at length,” says Aurigemma, “and agreed that we needed to do something extra special in this store, since Nashville is Music City USA. We talked with the sales team and decided to create the ultimate technology department display, one based around a sizeable and fully functional live stage featuring a fully automated lighting rig and a substantial QRx rig and six monitor mixes, with all the loudspeakers integrated into our matrix system. This allows our customers to hear whatever they like in just about any configuration they can think of.”
“EV is one of our core brands, and this display provides a hands-on way to demo the gear we believe in the most.”
“My goal is to make all our stores worth the drive,” Aurigemma continues. “I think all musicians have a dream of making it to the big stage, and now we have a place for them to experience that feeling, with the equipment to match. I like nothing more than seeing our customers walk through the door and being blown away but what we’ve created. We want our customers to feel as proud and at home at our stores as we do. EV is one of our core brands, and this display provides a hands-on way to demo the gear we believe in the most.”
Similar EV-centered displays also in place at Sam Ash stores in Cerritos, California, Miami Lakes, Florida, Las Vegas, Nevada. Beyond customer demos, the stages are used to host a variety of national events.www.samash.com
